East Bay Mac Menders is a D.C.-based consulting firm principally devoted to the upgrading, teaching and repair of Macintosh computers and their peripherals. The firm is run by Chris Barylick, a graduate of the George Washington University's School of Business and Public Management and has been in existence since August of 2002.
Chris Barylick (Founder, Mac Dude and Penguin Admirer): A Mac user since 1985, Chris has spent the last several years tinkering with both the hardware and software ends of these systems. A walk-in technical consultant for the George Washington University's Center for Academic and Technical Services for the better part of three years, a staff trainer during his senior year, a technical consultant tasked with reworking the software images on the several campus Mac classrooms in 2001 and a former Macintosh systems analyst for Arlington Public Schools between undergrad and the beginning of grad school, Chris received full Apple-Certified Macintosh Technician certification and has spent most of his his time seeing what hardware and software changes will make a Mac run smoothly or wince in agony. He later snagged a second ACMT certification in 2021.
Since East Bay Mac Menders' inception, the goal has been to provide the best service, support, documentation and instruction possible to the D.C. area's Macintosh user base. While there are dozens of PC firms, consolidated Mac, Windows and Linux support has always been thin on the ground as far as there being someone to contact if things didn't go as they should. East Bay Mac Menders hopes to change this by providing the best on-site, phone, e-mail, on-site, data recovery and drop-off tech support possible.
